The ideal candidate will:
Have a minimum 5 years’ experience in recycling operations, solid waste management and/or landfill management or related field, including supervisory experience.
Have a strong understanding of landfill operations rules, regulations, policies and procedures and recycling and solid waste management principles.
A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Public Administration, Environmental Sciences or other course of study related field.
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with the public, department directors, staff, elected officials, representing the City professionally and well.
The salary range is $69,807 – $106,220. The actual starting salary will be commensurate with experience. Residency within the City of Decatur is required.
