The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a member of the Executive Team and responsible for the leadership, strategic direction and deliverables of the Finance and Operations Services Departments ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategy for a solid waste company with significant franchised operations. The CFO also oversees the financial aspects of real estate development and management activities conducted by affiliated entities. The CFO is responsible for implementation of industry best practices and compliance with laws, rules and regulations.
The CFO reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer of Rogue Waste, Inc. The Controller, and Director, Operations Services report to the CFO.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Provides direction and leadership across all finance related functions including budgeting, financial analysis and reporting, forecasting, capital, cash management, investments and insurance.
Oversees Operations Services which encompasses all aspects of customer experience and satisfaction, billing and Accounts Receivable, Information Technology, as well as systems and software that support the enterprise.
Serves as a key member of the Executive Team and a strategic thought partner to the Chief Executive Officer.
Develops, monitors and analyzes key organizational performance measures.
Oversees annual audit; contracts for audits and supports outside auditors as required.
Holds overall responsibility for federal, state and local tax matters.
Has primary responsibility for the company’s capital funding structure and future capital funding strategies.
Oversees franchise system reporting requirements and periodic rate review financial process.
Proactively develops recommendations for future efficiencies, profit improvements, growth strategies and adjustments to forecasts.
Develops recommendations for optimal investment and banking strategies.
Supports corporate strategy through the development of proformas and business plans.
Develops, implements and maintains policies and procedures ensuring efficiency, compliance and industry best practices.
Overall responsibility for selection, orientation, performance, development and retention of staff assigned to areas of responsibility.
Ensures employee performance evaluations are conducted in a timely manner. Provides feedback, as appropriate, for staff assigned to areas of responsibility.
Identifies staff training needs and ensures appropriate training is in place.
Works collaboratively with others throughout the organization and supports RWI leadership; displays excellent interpersonal skills.
Communicates clearly and proactively with multiple groups including customers, staff, business partners, vendors and the general public.
Builds and maintains relationships among all stakeholders that reflect the strongest levels of service, respect and teamwork.
Assumes additional responsibilities as needed, with little or no supervision.
Provides support to other positions as needed.

Demonstrated GAAP and financial reporting experience.
Ten or more years’ experience in accounting and finance management
Prior senior leadership experience
Prior waste management finance experience is desirable but not required
Prior operational experience is a plus
