Under direction of the Manager of Engineering & Planning, will coordinate the design, procurement and management of various capital improvement and operating projects for the Utility. Write specifications, monitor contracts, review written reports, create design work, estimate budgets and track projects ensuring work is done on time and within budget allotted. Participate in facility operations management, including consultation with the landfill Superintendent, Collections Operations Supervisor and Finance Manager regarding refuse collections, landfill and transfer station operations, maintenance and repairs. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline and four (4) years of professional engineering experience.
Associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline and six (6) years of professional engineering experience.
Must possess a valid State of Alaska driver's license by time of hire
Prefer applicants with Solid Waste and/or Environmental background and experience.
Prefer applicants with the ability to analyze data and formulate problem solutions supported by engineering fundamentals.
Knowledge of state and federal laws and judgments and decision necessary to ensure compliance.
