Solid Waste Manager - Executive Director
The Newton Solid Waste Management Authority in Historic Covington, Georgia, is seeking a Solid Waste Manager and Executive Director of the Newton County Georgia Solid Waste Enterprise Fund.  Newton County has 110,000 residents and is located 35 miles east of Atlanta.  The Newton Solid Waste system includes a 100,000 ton per year Mixed Solid Waste (MSW) landfill and 6 satellite residential transfer stations/convenience centers.  The system is operated by a staff of 25 and has a budget of $7 Million per year.  The landfill currently has an expected lifespan of over 50 years.  The landfill is currently constructing a new landfill cell, and also conducting an excavation of a 600,000 Cubic Yard unlined MSW cell and relocating the wastes to a lined cell, environmentally unique in the S
