INTRODUCTION Prince William County, Virginia, is seeking an experienced Landfill Operations Manager in the Solid Waste Division of the Department of Public Works. This is a professional position that will lead a team responsible for daily management and operation of the County’s sanitary landfill and associated environmental control systems; overseeing an organics composting facility operated by a third-party vendor; supervising the work of over fifty employees; establishing performance standards and tracking and analyzing metrics; ensuring safe work practices; managing the maintenance, repair, and replacement of facilities, vehicles, and equipment; preparing and maintaining operational and regulatory documentation; and administering contracts.
