• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Public Administration, Engineering, or related field AND
• Five years progressively responsible experience in the management of solid waste operations or related managerial experience.
• Additional post-graduate education in the above-mentioned areas may be substituted for the experience on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years. A Master’s degree will be considered equivalent to two years of the required experience.
• Possession of a valid California Class “C” driver’s license.

Highly Desirable: Familiarity with California laws dealing with solid waste issue; National and state certifications in environmental health, engineering, or related fields and certifications offered by professional organizations, i.e., the Solid Waste Association of America (SWANA), California Environmental Health Association (CEHA), Department of Health Services (DHS), etc.
